September 2012 Miche Luxe Line Review and All the Details! :)

Miche’s newest Luxe Line is proving to be a sensation! The new high-end line of interchangeable shells with intricate styling, bold detailing, and lots of bling appeals to a large segment of the existing Miche fan base, but is drawing attention from others as well.

I have just received my new Luxe shells, so I am going to fill you in on all the details I didn’t know until I saw and felt them myself. If you are still trying to decide whether to order a Luxe shell, or which one(s) to order, I hope this will provide all of the information you need to decide. Let’s take a closer look at Luxe:

The color of the Miche Luxe Classic Carmel and the Luxe Demi Lincoln is the deep maroon of the description, not the lighter rosy color that I see in the images on the computer. I took these pictures of Carmel to show you her true colors. Much closer to the “oxblood” that will be so prevalent this fall, the color is deep, dark and rich. This is the hottest color for Fall 2012, and is considered a fashion neutral, so she will go with everything in your current and coming fall wardrobe.

The many brads that twinkle and gleam are all around her shell, not just the front and the sides, but the back as well.

The antique brass detailing is carried out throughout the matching handles, the carabiner rings, and even the feet on the bottom of the bag!

Luxe Classic Carmel is truly lovely and very chic. Even the name plate continues the rivet detailing. This shell, complete with the matching handles, key fob and dust cover is $64.95. Her “big sister”, Luxe Demi Lincoln with the same color and styling details is $79.95. These limited editions are not yet low on inventory, and are available to order by clicking here.

You new Miche Luxe shell arrives already encased in its soft, silky dust cover, imprinted with Miche Luxe. (Of course I took the picture from the wrong side!) I really liked this presentation, and I am thinking of sending a Luxe shell to a dear friend. How nice to know it will arrive looking so pretty even before she sees the shell!

The Miche Luxe Demi Aspen, and her “little sister”, the Luxe Classic Sedona, are quite fabulous! They, too, continue their signature chain detailing from the front, to the back, so they look equally fabulous from any angle!

Above, you see my Luxe Demi Aspen from the back. I am thrilled to see the woven chain integrated into the back as well as the front. Only the Miche Luxe name plate indicates one side is front and the other is back. This is a personal pet peeve of mine. I find a lovely floral vest, or beautiful print sweater, but the back is plain! I cannot abide that. I was so pleased to see how fully and completely designed the Luxe line is – not a corner cut!

You will see that I am showing her with one, chain embellished handle to carry her hobo-style. This is not because of any problem with the shell coming loose! This shell has 3 magnetic strips on each side, and I could not shake it loose as hard as I tried! I like the look of the Demi carried with one strap, and for the Luxe, I used the carabiners from the other embellished handle to attach to the bag, then to the handle’s carabiner. This way the handle lies flat and easily shows its beautiful detailing.

The handles for the Aspen and the Luxe Classic Sedona are heavy with all of the carabiner and chain detailing. Too heavy? Hmmmm… I want to say “she ain’t heavy, she’s my Luxe!” but that’s me. If you are sensitive to the weight of a bag, and that part is important to you, you would be better off with the maroon or grey series Luxe shells. While the Luxe Classic Sedona does have end pockets, the Luxe Demi Aspen does not. Personally, I like that, because I feel the end pockets on a Demi shell give it a more casual appearance, while it does not on the Classic, in my opinion. And I am in love with the contrast of edgy style and refined design of the Aspen. Yes, I call mine “Biker Chic”. When I asked my husband what he thought of the new shell, he asked “Which one? Oh, you mean the really cool one?” Yes, he was referring to Aspen, so there you have a man’s opinion, too! These are limited edition shells, but the inventory on them has not yet run short. With so much stressing of the limited quantities, some customers, as well as some representatives, have become a bit panicked about the possibility of these shells selling out over the weekend. Corporate has now assured us they feel they have ordered enough that most of the shells should last the month of September. They also encourage us to ensure that all parties and orders for these beauties are planned for the first half of the month so no customers are disappointed.

So what to make of this somewhat conflicting information? I no longer think there is a danger of these shells selling out the first weekend. Corporate had taken a long look at the quick sell outs we have had this year, as well as all of the buzz around the new Luxe line before making this announcement.

But I would suggest that if you have made your decision – don’t wait to place your order. And I think it wise to plan to order your favorite(s) before the middle of the month.

Your Fall Fashion Statement ~ Miche Bag & FREE Fearless Charm!

So which of the new fall fashions has caught your fancy? Besides the fall Miche Fearless line – of course! Are you loving the look of leather? The playful prints from head to toe? Are you looking forward to all things scarlet and must-have oxblood pieces? Or the brocade and braided baroque? Or… do you just want to be your best you? So many times, the latest fashions are designed to make the designer, rather than the woman, shine. Remember, fashion should work for you, not the other way around. Find what you love, and be sure you can really rock that look – rather than looking lost in translation.

Your look should be your own. Add your own personality into your style, and use the latest looks to enhance your own. I love the whimsy of Miche Demi Joella above, whether paired with the red we will soon see so much of, or any other color she compliments. Vivid red looks fabulous on the model above, but it does not flatter my skin tones. If I decide to dive into scarlet, I’ll be sure to do so with pants or skirt – something far from my face, so I can look great wearing this style, rather than being outshone by the color I choose. Or maybe just an accent or two will do…

Maybe you will prefer to use the red of fall fashions sparingly, as a splash of color rather than the main look. With Miche Demi Tina, some red in the print heels and on a bracelet, and this model has completely updated a classic look to be perfectly current with Fall 2012.

Like the Joella, Tina helps you incorporate a couple of new trends at once. Prints are very big this coming season. Bold prints, geometric, floral, animal prints. Lots and lots of prints, frequently mixed. We will see a lot of not just colored jeans, but colorful print jeans. If this is what you love – enjoy! If instead, you are groaning – no worries! You can add a print scarf or handbag to your favorite outfit of solids and still look current. More importantly, you still look like you!

It is being said that “oxblood” – the deep wine color of the leather jacket right – “is the new black”. It is versatile, looks great with many colors, and we will see it everywhere this fall. So much so, that some are trying to find a more pleasing name. Burgundy is the one I hear most, and “Chianti” is being suggested, but it doesn’t seem to be gaining traction.

See how well it goes with the olive-green of the cami and the rich ocher of Miche Prima Breanne? This color will work with many that are already in your closet. Again, if it enhances your skin tones, go for jackets, blouses and scarves. If you love it, but it is not flattering to you, try pants, skirts, belts and shoes, where it will keep your look current, but you keep the colors that look best on you near your face.

The baroque look will be dazzling, with heavy use of brocade, velvets, gold braiding, beading, and intricate patterns. The looks we are seeing are stunning - but I find it hard to see the woman wearing them… I think they get lost in the glare. To the left, you have my take on a more gentle baroque. The richness of the colors, the mixed floral and snake-skin patterns, the intricate details and embellishments are all inspired by the idea of wearable baroque that still lets you shine and needn’t break the bank. Miche Demi Myranda is a perfect fit with her rich plum tones and extravagant pleating details. Worn with the interchangeable antique brass chain handles and further embellished with a purse charm with the antique brass chain and shine, she fits right into the lush look of wearable baroque.

The cross between the opulence of the Elizabethan era ball gown and dress military uniforms makes for a glittering baroque fashion show, but will, I think, be tough to wear, and will quickly be out of date. Instead, use pieces you love and will enjoy for a long time, and incorporate some of the baroque influences in your updated looks. For certain, I will be wearing intricate earrings and ornate jewelry and lush patterns. You decide if you like this style, and if so, how much of it you will explore. Be inspired and make it yours!

Maybe you are not interested in what the rest of the world will be wearing this fall. Instead, you have your own style and are comfortable with your look. Great! If you just want a great casual bag that works for all seasons, Miche Demi Madison has got you covered! Richly marble textured caramel and navy faux leather is banded by an interesting strap and hardware detail. The colors are great year round, and while casual, Madison is utterly stylish. When first looking at the August 2012 Miche collection, before you really see the wonderful details or really take in the clever hardware and the edgy styling points you are immediately immersed in color. This collection is inspired by the rich colors of the African sunset and the wild textures of the Australian Outback: strong yet beautiful. Glorious!

Rich teal in pebbled faux leather is gathered in lush ripples and folds that catch the light on Miche Demi Clover. This is such an exciting time to be in love with Miche! A total of 22 new shells are now available to order today – 18 Fearless shells – absolutely fabulous - and 4 Hope shells - one for each base bag size - beautiful!

Over the past week, I have provided detailed descriptions of each of the new shells. Please review previous posts, but I want to recap the highlights for you here. Because there is now a whole new set of options for customizing your bags with interchangeable handles in antique brass or silver, or to use the antique brass carabiners with the standard handles, I will note the color of the metal detailing for each.

New colors, new edgier styles, lush textures. Three new Petite shells in the Fearless line:

Petite Jackie in soft teal and lush gathers. Ever so lightly brushed with bronzing, this bag has silver accents and generous end pockets. $18.95

The luscious color of plums and raspberries rendered in a croc textured faux leather make the Classic Lillian a memorable addition to the Miche line! Silver name plate – use silver chains or carabiner rings to accessorize. $24.95

You must see it to believe it! Demi Eve is simply stunning! The woven panel is not just made of the supple, softly textured faux leather, it also uses a deep black cording in the weaving that gives the detailing terrific depth. Lightly textured faux leather is super soft, and highlighted by contrasting white stitching and antique brass hardware rivets and Miche name plate. The Interchangeable handles are a must-have for me! I can’t wait to play!

The Interchangeable Handles bring the customizability of the Miche Bags to a whole new level. First, there are 3 handles sets. You can select the silver chains set, which comes with a set of 2 supple, subtly textured black strap handles and a set of 2 croc textured rich brown strap handles, and 4 silver chains. The chains attach to each end of the strap, and then to the bag, either 2 handles or one, as you prefer. The set of silver chains, with the brown and black straps is $24.95, and offers tremendous options in styling your current Miche bags, and those that are new that you will soon be purchasing. The same set is available with the antique brass chains, and the 2 brown and 2 black straps.

But, perhaps you are like me, and just need to have it all? The Ultimate Set includes it all!

This is the ultimate in customizability - the 2 black straps, the 2 croc textured brown straps, 4 silver chains, 4 antique brass chains all for $39.95. The combined length of one of these chain handles is 26.5 inches, with a handle drop of 12.5 inches. The straps are .75 inch wide. These handles are truly upscale in appearance and feel.

There are also new, antique brass carabiner rings in the 1-inch and 1.5-inch sizes. A set of 4 1-inch carabiner rings, in either silver or antique brass is $5.95. For the 4 1.5-inch rings, in either color, $8.95. The Petite handle with antique brass chain is $5.95.

I cannot believe I have been able to restrain my excitement about ordering this new line long enough to complete this posting for you! I need to get going to grab my favorites asap!
