Miche June 2013 Patriotic Shells – Americana

Every June, in plenty of time for summer picnics and 4th of July fireworks, Miche releases a set of patriotic themed shells, that have always proved to be very popular.  Is this just the result of good marketing?  Perhaps…  yet perhaps the fact that the Miche story itself is such a quintessentially American success story is the real reason.  Whatever the inspiration – the styles are certainly inspired!

For June 2013, the Miche Patriotic shells are called Americana.  The very name evokes patriotism and nostalgia, and these shells live up to the name in style!

The Miche Petite Americana features lightly textured faux leather in an antique cream, accented with bright red top stitching in a diamond pattern.  Slender red straps are placed horizontally across the shell, with a rich, navy blue field to the left.  Two cream stars are appliqued on the blue for the final splash of patriotic spirit.

Miche Classic Americana begins with soft, fine pebble textured faux leather in antique cream.  Red top stitching forms a diamond pattern across the entire shell.  The wide red stripes and the navy blue field are appliqued on tope of the diamond patterned cream.  What makes this point so special is the way the two stars are actually cut out from the navy field, leaving the red stitched cream to show through.  So clever!  $24.95

OK – this looks like a good place to address everyone’s concerns about just how long will these shells be available?  I don’t like to be pushy – who wants that, right?  But how many of you now wish I had known enough this time last month to tell you BUY NOW – the shells you love will fly off the shelves and be retired!  Right?

Unfortunately, no one knew to expect the incredible sales for the many Miche summer shells released this month, that sold out in a matter of days.  They were intended to be summer shells – Miche thought they ordered enough to last for three months – and Maryanne only lasted 5 and a half days!  She was quickly followed by several other styles that sold out before the 15th of the month.  SO many customers have been so disappointed!

Knowing the above information, please consider that the two Americana shells shown above are a Limited Edition, and really only expected to last for about 6 weeks.  These were ordered many months ago, at the same time the projections for the May sales were made and very much under-estimated.  If you see something you love this summer, please don’t wait!  Or if you are unsure, contact me – I will be happy to check the inventory reports and let you know if that item is running low.

It has not been declared as such, but I believe the Demi and Prima Americana will be with us for some time.  This does not mean they won’t sell out – and possibly soon!  But I do expect that they will be re-ordered and re-supplied over time.  If I learn otherwise – I will let you know!  But even if I am right, re-stocking sometime in the future doesn’t mean you can get what you want, when you want it.  All those who are frantically searching for the Cream Interchangeable Straps (I have some!) and Tan Rope Straps (I don’t) know exactly what I mean.

One final note on availability.  If you heard the rumors that Miche was going to release a Limited Edition test of men’s bags this month – you were right!  They were!  And now we have been informed that with so many reps ordering them, this, the very first day they were available to us – they do not expect to have enough to sell to the public.  So these 3 June items are unlikely to ever make it to market.  Just to keep you informed, as is always my goal.

Summertime chic is all about keeping the lines clean and the accessories simple – and making them count!   With long, loose waves of hair, pouty lips and attitude, this loose slip dress doesn’t need much in the way of accessories to make a statement.  Use the animal print in Miche Demi Bianca to give that statement an exclamation point!   Simple summer chic.

You see a lot of earth tones, and natural materials, or those inspired by nature for the natural look.  Animal and floral prints abound, and animal skin texture, whether real or faux, are much in demand for this look.  Miche Prima Breanne above is fashionably animal-friendly in a lustrous faux leather, but the look of a big, leather satchel, together with the cargo shorts and geographically inspired top, pull together a fully safari chic look.  Top it off with jewelry in wood and earth tones, and woven leather-looking sandals for the complete safari chic.

Here, the safari influence is engaged with a much lighter touch, but is definitely the theme of the ensemble.  The knotted leather belt, and the jungle vine pattern of Miche Demi Kylie combine with the crochet texture of the tank and the wooden bead necklace for a cool and clear ready-for-anything appeal.

Apparently, once you make camp at the end of a days long venture into the veld, there are occasions to dress for dinner!  We are seeing the safari influence in dresses and evening wear – and it is dramatic!  Tribal prints and primitive inspired jewelry in earthy metals and stones bring your look into the safari zone.  Bronze and copper tones in the faux snake Miche Classic Vicky alone add both a glamorous touch and a splash of adventurous appeal to a typical jeans and tee-shirt day.  But she is ready to go all out for a night on the town if you are!

Maybe you like your own style just fine, and only want to add a dash of the safari feel.  Miche Demi Bianca does that beautifully in a rugged faux snake pattern with tan strapping and buckle detailing.  Simple.  Easy.  Chic!

But if you want to pull out all the stops, Miche Demi Bianca is ready to roll!  here, everything is pulling together for a softer take on Safari Sweet.  Natural, cool material in an earthy green and a tied halter top make this sun dress soft and lovely.  Add earth and wood-toned, tribal inspired jewelry, and the strappy natural materials look of the wedge sandals make this a safari home run.  The addition of the faux snake-skin patterned Miche Demi Bianca turns the home run into a grand slam!  I love this look!
