I know it’s new, but what do you think of the new Miche Luxe line? Are you in love? Or do the original Miche bag shells still claim your heart? Either way, you can get a free purse charm with your $70 order – see details below.

The newest Miche Luxe line to be released September 1st, 2012, is generating a lot of buzz! So far the reviews seem to be very positive, yet I hear some customers saying they really want to be able to keep ordering more traditional Miche bag shells. Not to worry! Your Fall Fashion Statement ~ Miche Bag & FREE Fearless Charm!

So which of the new fall fashions has caught your fancy? Besides the fall Miche Fearless line – of course! Are you loving the look of leather? The playful prints from head to toe? Are you looking forward to all things scarlet and must-have oxblood pieces? Or the brocade and braided baroque? Or… do you just want to be your best you? So many times, the latest fashions are designed to make the designer, rather than the woman, shine. Remember, fashion should work for you, not the other way around. Find what you love, and be sure you can really rock that look – rather than looking lost in translation.

Your look should be your own. Add your own personality into your style, and use the latest looks to enhance your own. I love the whimsy of Miche Demi Joella above, whether paired with the red we will soon see so much of, or any other color she compliments. Vivid red looks fabulous on the model above, but it does not flatter my skin tones. If I decide to dive into scarlet, I’ll be sure to do so with pants or skirt – something far from my face, so I can look great wearing this style, rather than being outshone by the color I choose. Or maybe just an accent or two will do…

Maybe you will prefer to use the red of fall fashions sparingly, as a splash of color rather than the main look. With Miche Demi Tina, some red in the print heels and on a bracelet, and this model has completely updated a classic look to be perfectly current with Fall 2012.

Like the Joella, Tina helps you incorporate a couple of new trends at once. Prints are very big this coming season. Bold prints, geometric, floral, animal prints. Lots and lots of prints, frequently mixed. We will see a lot of not just colored jeans, but colorful print jeans. If this is what you love – enjoy! If instead, you are groaning – no worries! You can add a print scarf or handbag to your favorite outfit of solids and still look current. More importantly, you still look like you!

It is being said that “oxblood” – the deep wine color of the leather jacket right – “is the new black”. It is versatile, looks great with many colors, and we will see it everywhere this fall. So much so, that some are trying to find a more pleasing name. Burgundy is the one I hear most, and “Chianti” is being suggested, but it doesn’t seem to be gaining traction.

See how well it goes with the olive-green of the cami and the rich ocher of Miche Prima Breanne? This color will work with many that are already in your closet. Again, if it enhances your skin tones, go for jackets, blouses and scarves. If you love it, but it is not flattering to you, try pants, skirts, belts and shoes, where it will keep your look current, but you keep the colors that look best on you near your face.

The baroque look will be dazzling, with heavy use of brocade, velvets, gold braiding, beading, and intricate patterns. The looks we are seeing are stunning - but I find it hard to see the woman wearing them… I think they get lost in the glare. To the left, you have my take on a more gentle baroque. The richness of the colors, the mixed floral and snake-skin patterns, the intricate details and embellishments are all inspired by the idea of wearable baroque that still lets you shine and needn’t break the bank. Miche Demi Myranda is a perfect fit with her rich plum tones and extravagant pleating details. Worn with the interchangeable antique brass chain handles and further embellished with a purse charm with the antique brass chain and shine, she fits right into the lush look of wearable baroque.

The cross between the opulence of the Elizabethan era ball gown and dress military uniforms makes for a glittering baroque fashion show, but will, I think, be tough to wear, and will quickly be out of date. Instead, use pieces you love and will enjoy for a long time, and incorporate some of the baroque influences in your updated looks. For certain, I will be wearing intricate earrings and ornate jewelry and lush patterns. You decide if you like this style, and if so, how much of it you will explore. Be inspired and make it yours!

Maybe you are not interested in what the rest of the world will be wearing this fall. Instead, you have your own style and are comfortable with your look. Great! If you just want a great casual bag that works for all seasons, Miche Demi Madison has got you covered! Richly marble textured caramel and navy faux leather is banded by an interesting strap and hardware detail. The colors are great year round, and while casual, Madison is utterly stylish. Fabulous Fall Fashions: Miche Bags w/ Fearless Purse Charms!

Do you love fall fashion? Or are you sad to see the light colors and florals of spring go into storage? I must admit that I enjoy the drama and inherent sensuality of fall fashions as much as I love the fun and flirty side of spring.

If you are surprised to see fall described as dramatic, you need to re-think the concept. Fall clothing doesn’t mean everything is dark and sober. Colors do tend to be deeper and richer in fall, but you must look to find the sultry and mysterious. Don’t settle for dull!

Miche Demi Myranda beguiles in lush plum tones and generous pleating details. Her antique brass name plate makes her a sophisticated choice for the interchangeable handles and antique brass chains. Use either the black or the brown strap, as best coordinates with your outfit.

Black always lends itself to drama. Miche Demi Eve is a particular favorite of mine with the multiple textures introduced by the intricate cording detail, the weaving and the gathers of her super soft faux leather.

The layers so popular in fall – and so functional! – allow a greater interplay of patterns and textures, affording more opportunity to express your individuality. I further enhance the many textures of Eve by carrying her with a single Black Rope Handle attached to the silver chains of the Interchangeable Handles. The rope handle plays off the cording perfectly, and I like the elegance of the silver chains.

There is plenty of rich color to be found in fall, along with those oh-so-soft and cuddly sweaters, and hair worn down, long and loose and so bewitching.

Miche Demi Clover in deep, bronze kissed teal again lets the color and the texture do the talking. Sweeping gathers create ripples of teal and shadows. I still have not decided whether to carry her with the Black Rope Handles – you know how much I love them! – or the Interchangeable handles with the silver chains. Which will you use?

If touchably soft sweaters appeal to you, but you prefer the earth tones and neutral shades of fall, you might enjoy the play of patterns of the Demi Renae in a faux snake-skin pattern of taupe and cream. She definitely makes a statement!

For the outfit to the left, I would keep the embellishments minimal, just swapping the silver toned carabiners for those in antique brass, available separately. To go all out with Renae, I would use the Interchangeable antique brass chains with the black straps.

So incredibly chic!

Sometimes fabulous color and rich texture are all you need to stand out. Rich, candied raspberry tones and intricate texture make this outfit a show stopper. Miche Classic Lillian with her croc-textured faux leather is a perfect complement to this intricately textured berry dress, and a real pop of color to any outfit in neutral shades. I may in fact be addicted to playing with the handles! I would carry Lillian with the Black Rope Handles. Texture upon texture is wonderful while the colors remain solid and simple.

And a bold pattern is its own type of visual texture to add to solid colors. Did you know that animal prints are now considered a fashion neutral? Both for clothing and interior design, the animal print has become a lasting statement of chic, that will go with just about anything, and make it look even better. What a joy!

Miche Demi Kendra with her faux leopard print in shades of rich brown is a perfect accent for this fun dress accessorized in natural textures and brown tones.

We will be seeing a lot of leather, and leather looks this fall. Not just for purses, shoes, belts and jackets, you will see leather-look pants, shirts, skirts, dresses, camisoles and more. Clearly not for the timid – but why be shy? This fall, we are going to be Fearless!

The reason this look with Miche Demi Joella works so well is that purple is an analogous color on the color wheel to red. Color theory can get very technical, but the bottom line is that purple is right next to red on the color wheel, and therefore they make a harmonious combination. Keeping the red as an accent color, and relying on the giraffe print as a neutral with pizzazz, we can pull together strong colors, the hottest trends and still make a bold statement of individual personality and style!

Miche August Fearless Shells & Handles ~ Join the Party!

The newest Miche line – Fearless – brings us not just edgy, stylish new shells, but a wonderful innovation for accessorizing the newest bags as well as old favorites. Read on to learn more, and to join our online party!

All week, I have been reviewing the newest Miche line, Fearless, which I think is simply fabulous. There are two more shells to cover, and then these amazing, interchangeable handles you see above. I’ll cover these in detail for you – pricing, how they work – all of it!

Demi Clover is one of my (many) favorites in the newest line. With rich teal faux leather, lightly rubbed with bronzing and gentle gathers along sweeping, curving diagonal lines, Clover is all about understated elegance. Luscious color and flowing lines tell a story of fashion forward confidence. Striking with the silver chains of the Interchangeable Handles.

Miche Demi Clover is available to order August 1st.

The Petite Roxy is small, but not to be taken lightly. Super soft, pebble textured faux leather in deepest black is highlighted by contrasting stitching in white across the front and around the end pockets. The antique brass Miche name plate, and rivet detailing make this a perfect bag for use with the new Petite Handle with antique brass chain.

And now, at last (drum roll, please) the new, Interchangeable Handles! They are fabulous, they are fun, and they are finally available to order tomorrow!

The Interchangeable Handles bring the customizability of the Miche Bags to a whole new level. First, there are 3 handles sets. You can select the silver chains set, which comes with a set of 2 supple, subtly textured black strap handles, and a set of 2 croc textured rich brown strap handles, and 4 silver chains. The chains attach to each end of the strap, and then to the bag, either 2 handles or one, as you prefer. The set of silver chains, with the brown and black straps is $24.95, and offers tremendous options in styling your current Miche bags, and those that are new that you will soon be purchasing. Then there is the set with the antique brass handles. Again, you will receive the 2 sets of black straps and the 2 croc textured brown straps, and now 4 chains in the lovely, new Antique Brass so heavily featured in the Fearless line. $24.95 for the set.

But, perhaps you are like me, and just need to have it all? The Ultimate Set includes it all!

This is the ultimate in customizability - the 2 black straps, the 2 croc textured brown straps, 4 silver chains, 4 antique brass chains all for $39.95. The combined length of one of these chain handles is 26.5 inches, with a handle drop of 12.5 inches. The straps are .75 inch wide. These handles are very upscale in appearance and feel. And the chains easily accommodate the rope fashion handles, and the cream and croc fashion handles currently on sale for just $6.45 per set. I can’t wait to play!

If you want to highlight the antique brass details of some of the new bags, but don’t want something quite so splashy as the Interchangeable chain handles, consider these options. The Petite Handle with the antique brass chain is just $5.95. For larger bags, connect your current handles with the antique brass carabiner rings! A set of 4 1-inch rings is $5.95, the set of 4 1.5-inch carabiners is $8.95. I use the 1.5-inch carabiner rings when I attach a single handle to my Dem bag, and carry it hobo-style. An inexpensive way to add your individual style and detail to a new shell.

The Ultimate Set of Interchangeable Handles is an absolute must for me, and I think I really

need the Demi Joella (left) with silver chains, I think. And the Kendra (right) with the antique brass – definitely! But what about Clover? Or the new Hope? – Gorgeous!

Miche August Fearless Shells Details ~ Come Join the Party!

Miche Demi Myranda, shown here with the fabulous new Interchangeable handles with the antique brass chains, is truly special. The luscious plum color is rendered in super soft faux leather with a marbled texture. Abundant bold pleating and antique brass detailing make Myranda a true stand-out from a distance as well as up close.

Here, one Interchangeable handle with the antique brass chains is used with the antique brass 1.5 carabiner at each end, carried hobo-style. This accessory makes the most of Myranda’s high-end detailing.

Both Miche Demi Myranda and the Interchangeable handles with antique brass and silver chains will be available to order August 1st.

Rich Persian orange faux leather, with an almost burnt caramel tone makes the Prima Breanne a beautiful neutral to go everywhere and do all you need, and look great doing so! Subtle gathering is set off with contrasting stitching in black. The Miche name plate is in antique brass, so I would style this with either the Interchangeable handles with a black strap and the brass chains, or the Black Rope Handles with the new antique brass carabiner rings. Stylish neutral shades with sharp contrasts ensure that while the new Fearless shells will mix well with your current wardrobe, each will stand out as a wonderful accent piece in its own right. Miche and me About Town: Demi Reyna and the SD Floral Association

Miche Demi Reyna and I discovered a wondrous treasure down town – The San Diego Floral Association. This is the oldest garden club in southern California, and is the keeper of much gardening and architectural lore of the San Diego area going back well before it was part of the United States. It felt like entering a temple and stepping back in time to a secret realm where living beauty is held sacred.

There is so much to learn there, and we barely scratched the surface. But it was inspiring and incredibly peaceful simply contemplating the beauty of the natural world, and our place and participation in it.

I didn’t want to leave! But eventually we had to go. As we did, I found myself seeing my surroundings with a fresh eye - truly appreciating little beautiful details I had not noticed previously. The lush plantings along the boulevards and even in the parking areas. The colorful bouganville and agapanthus in full glory that we take so for granted. Even how very nice working air conditioning and a good cd are on a long drive home!

I think that was the real lesson of the day – to appreciate goodness and beauty in big things and small in my daily life. Miche Demi Reyna was looking her lustrous best, with her deep, rich fuchsia tones perfectly complemented and contrasted in the color and texture of the Black Rope Handles and the bit of bling she wore – the Miche Taffy purse charmer. There was a time in my life when a dumpy sack on a strap was all I could call a purse. How fortunate I am to be at this point in my life, able to enjoy little lovely luxuries every day.

So tell me – what little beauties are you enjoying in your life? I am going to try to be more observant and appreciative of the goodness in my life. Something tells me the more I count my blessings, the more blessings I will find to count!

Miche Bags ~ An Insider’s tips for a well-dressed Miche Bag!

The Miche Bag is all about Endless Possibilities for each and every purse ~ and every woman. I am going to show you how and when I use pockets, fashion handles, charms and more to create a look for my Miche Bag that is both polished and my own. The Miche Pockets for the flat-sided Classic shells (pockets available in both black and brown) are the unsung fashion accessory of the Miche Bag line. Simply slide the pocket onto the Classic Base before adding a flat-sided shell for extra storage and a streamlined appearance. Some women love the style and look of the flat-sided, fold over shells, but refuse to consider them. They want and need the additional storage provided by the built-in end pockets provided by the pull on style as demonstrated by Miche Classic Kandace below: I love the way this style of pull on shell completely changes the silhouette of the entire bag, but Miche has created pockets that add storage while retaining the sleek lines of the fold-over shells. This also gives a more polished look to the ends of the bag as demonstrated with Miche Classic Cinthia below. On the left, Miche Classic Cinthia without the pocket. On the right, see the end closed in with the black pocket.

Gathered faux leather covers the open end of the purse, adding a pocket to each side to fit a cell phone, calculator, compact, lipstick, etc. To order your Miche Pockets in black or brown, click here. I always use the pockets with any open-sided, fold over Classic shell, for the finished look it gives as well as the extra storage.

I know I have gone on (and on) about my love for the Miche Rope Handles in black and pewter. The Miche Black Rope Handles are back in stock and available to order in my Online Store! I think they add a level of refinement and sophistication to every sized Miche Bag and nearly every shell.

For the Petite, I think the Miche Rope Handle is not out of scale, and changes the feel from perhaps a little girl’s purse, to a chic purse a woman would carry. See Miche Petite Skylar right with the black rope handle.

Maybe I am just harder on my purse than many, but I find the slender handle that comes with the Miche Petite Base feels a bit fragile for every day use. With the Miche Rope Handle, the Miche Petite and I are great friends for busy day trips or a night on the town.

For the Miche Classic Bag, I find the rope handles turn a strictly hand-bag into a stylish purse that fits comfortably over my shoulder. At the same time, they enhance the style of the bag. I think they are the only embellishment needed to make the oh-so-elegant Elizabeth or the flirty Cinthia look their very, very best.

(Each of these Classics shown below has the pockets added.)

On the left, Miche Classic Elizabeth is even more beautiful with her black floral detailing set off by the Miche Black Rope Handles. To the right, Miche Classic Cinthia’s silver tones are beautifully echoed by the Miche Rope Handles in Pewter. You can further play with the look and the length by creating a short chain of carabiner rings between the handles and the purse. On the right, I have used 3 1-inch carabiner rings at each end of the Black Rope Handles on Miche Classic Jasmine. To my eye, this adds a somewhat funky vibe that I feel compliments the exotic pattern of Jasmine. But I use just the Rope Handles with 1 carabiner ring for the more refined Elizabeth and Cinthia.

I think the Miche Chain Handles in black or brown add an edgier feel to any purse, and I love their look with the Miche Classic Hope Red (shown left).

Play with the different handle options to see which combination you like best. For instance, should the silver tones of Miche Demi Kinsley be matched or contrasted by the rope handle?

Pairing Miche Demi Kinsley with the Rope Handles in Pewter (right) is a very elegant combination.

Below, contrasting Miche Demi Kinsley with the Black Rope Handles is an edgier look.

I would probably add a different purse charm to Kinsley depending upon the handle I chose to accessorize the shell with. I would select Miche purse charmer Taffy in white to go with the silver handle. And probably a darker colored charm with contrasting colors when using the black.

For myself, I do not add a purse charm to a bag that is rich in detail like the four Classic shells shown above. I feel it would be gilding the lily, and the ruffles or the ornate pattern of the purse would not be enhanced by the addition of a purse charm.

I do like to add some bling to the more tailored styles like the Kinsley above or to Miche Demi Margaret shown right with Miche charmer Taffy. I do have retired Miche Demi shell Margaret available to order in my personal inventory! Just contact me to order Miche Demi Margaret!

When I use the Miche Rope Handles with the Demi size Miche Bag, I like to use it as a single handle to further add to the hobo style of the line of the bag. I also use two carabiner rings at each end of the rope handle to ensure the rope lies flat. I use a 1.5 inch carabiner ring attached to the purse, and a 1 inch ring to link it to the handle. I like the proportions and added detail this reduction in scale gives to the look of the bag. I do have retired Miche Demi shell Margaret available to order!
