Fierce fashion styles and fast shipping! What more could a girl want? I placed my order for items from the new Miche Fearless collection on Wednesday, and was playing with the new shells and handles Friday! Fantastic! And I just love them! Let’s take a look at ways to accessorize the new Fearless shells, and also how the new handles can dress up an old favorite.

Long time readers will know of my love affair with animal prints. Miche Demi Kendra is absolutely fabulous! The oversized rivets and the clasp on her front strap are in the rich, antique brass tones used throughout the Fearless line, and they are set off beautifully by the Interchangeable Handles with antique brass chains. I used the black strap with Kendra to pick up the black of her front belt detail and the banding at the top. I also have more black in my wardrobe. The brown strap is just as lovely with the brass chains and Kendra’s leopard print - I would recommend it if you wear more earth tones. Remember – with the Interchangeable Handles, you get both a set of 2 grained black straps and a set of 2 croc textured brown straps. Kendra has a lovely sheen, but is not “shiny”

Miche Demi Eve is utterly chic, simply sophisticated and I just love her! To set off her intricate weaving and cording detail, I am carrying her with the Black Rope Handles attached to 2 of the silver chains from the set of Interchangeable Handles. Although I usually use a 1.5″ carabiner ring to attach the handle when I carry the Demi hobo-style, in this case, I found the length to be best when I attached just the chains and rope handles without the additional carabiner. Below, you have a

close up of that wonderful weaving and cording detail I have written about. The cording has a twisted texture that goes beautifully with the Black Rope Handle. The gentle gathers along each side just add to Eve’s easy glamour. The purse charm shown is a Kat’s Kreations in black, white and silver, but I have also enjoyed using the Miche Taffy charmer all in white. Perfect for when I am wearing all black and white. There are no side pockets for Eve, but she does have a zippered back pocket.

As much as I love the new Interchangeable Handles with the new shells, they also really dress up those I already have! Below, I want to show you two ways of using the antique brass to light up an old flame:

To the right, you see one of my favorite Classic shells, the Miche Raquel with the brown straps and antique brass chains of the Interchangeable Handles. The abstract animal print (what else?) of Raquel gleams with gold and bronze and copper tones set off to perfection by the antique brass chains.

When first looking at the August 2012 Miche collection, before you really see the wonderful details or really take in the clever hardware and the edgy styling points you are immediately immersed in color. Rich shades, many hues, and lots of lush color. In my previous article, I focused on some of the fabulous patterns to be found in the collection. Today is about the color palette. This collection is inspired by the rich colors of the African sunset and the wild textures of the Australian Outback: strong yet beautiful. Glorious!

The rich ochre, faux leather of the Miche Prima Breanne, reminiscent of the sunsets over the Kalahari desert, is lightly marbled in its texture. Contrasting black stitching lends interesting shape and slight gathering. The antique brass Miche name plate is a perfect highlight for this shell, like the last glint of the setting sun. $39.95

Rich teal in pebbled faux leather is gathered in lush ripples and folds that catch the light on Miche Demi Clover. Adding to the color depth of this bag, there is a feather-light rubbing of bronze that seems almost hand done. Miche Demi Myranda, shown left with the Interchangeable handles with antique brass chains, is a luscious color of plum flavored with candied raspberries. Her faux leather is lightly marbled in texture, and gathered in multiple generous pleats along the front and sides. The black of ebony and obsidian are not bleak, but almost seem to glow with life. If you want to highlight the antique brass details of some of the new bags, but don’t want something quite so splashy as the Interchangeable chain handles, consider these options. The Petite Handle with the antique brass chain is just $5.95. For larger bags, connect your current handles with the antique brass carabiner rings! A set of 4 1-inch rings is $5.95, the set of 4 1.5-inch carabiners is $8.95. I use the 1.5-inch carabiner rings when I attach a single handle to my Dem bag, and carry it hobo-style. An inexpensive way to add your individual style and detail to a new shell.

Miche Demi Myranda, shown here with the fabulous new Interchangeable handles with the antique brass chains, is truly special. The luscious plum color is rendered in super soft faux leather with a marbled texture. Abundant bold pleating and antique brass detailing make Myranda a true stand-out from a distance as well as up close.

Here, one Interchangeable handle with the antique brass chains is used with the antique brass 1.5 carabiner at each end, carried hobo-style. This accessory makes the most of Myranda’s high-end detailing.

Rich Persian orange faux leather, with an almost burnt caramel tone makes the Prima Breanne a beautiful neutral to go everywhere and do all you need, and look great doing so! Subtle gathering is set off with contrasting stitching in black. The Miche name plate is in antique brass, so I would style this with either the Interchangeable handles with a black strap and the brass chains, or the Black Rope Handles with the new antique brass carabiner rings. Stylish neutral shades with sharp contrasts ensure that while the new Fearless shells will mix well with your current wardrobe, each will stand out as a wonderful accent piece in its own right. Miche and Me About Town ~ Demi Kinsley and I discover Magic!

This week, Miche Demi Kinsley and I took a day off and headed for down town San Diego. It was a gorgeous day and we had a blast! There is so much to do and see, especially off the well trod path of the major attractions. We were wandering around and found this small wild flower garden that was simply enchanting! We could have stayed for hours just enjoying the magic and quiet beauty of the spot.

With her silvery Pewter Rope Handles and Taffy charmer, Kinsley was definitely looking her lovely best. I love the contrast of her soft texture and sheen with the rugged rock wall, and the white wild flowers in the distance were just a perfect accent. All in all a perfect day!

Sometimes it is the spontaneous, unplanned outings that are the best. No expectations – just open for anything. Miche Bags ~ An Insider’s tips for a well-dressed Miche Bag!

The Miche Bag is all about Endless Possibilities for each and every purse ~ and every woman. I am going to show you how and when I use pockets, fashion handles, charms and more to create a look for my Miche Bag that is both polished and my own. I hope you will share your own ideas for dressing your Miche Bag! Please click on the comment bubble above just to the right of the title of this post and let me know your favorite combinations.

The Miche Pockets for the flat-sided Classic shells (pockets available in both black and brown) are the unsung fashion accessory of the Miche Bag line. Simply slide the pocket onto the Classic Base before adding a flat-sided shell for extra storage and a streamlined appearance. Some women love the style and look of the flat-sided, fold over shells, but refuse to consider them. They want and need the additional storage provided by the built-in end pockets provided by the pull on style as demonstrated by Miche Classic Kandace below: I love the way this style of pull on shell completely changes the silhouette of the entire bag, but Miche has created pockets that add storage while retaining the sleek lines of the fold-over shells. This also gives a more polished look to the ends of the bag as demonstrated with Miche Classic Cinthia below. On the left, Miche Classic Cinthia without the pocket. On the right, see the end closed in with the black pocket.

Gathered faux leather covers the open end of the purse, adding a pocket to each side to fit a cell phone, calculator, compact, lipstick, etc. To order your Miche Pockets in black or brown, click here. I always use the pockets with any open-sided, fold over Classic shell, for the finished look it gives as well as the extra storage.

I know I have gone on (and on) about my love for the Miche Rope Handles in black and pewter. The Miche Black Rope Handles are back in stock and available to order in my Online Store! I think they add a level of refinement and sophistication to every sized Miche Bag and nearly every shell.

For the Petite, I think the Miche Rope Handle is not out of scale, and changes the feel from perhaps a little girl’s purse, to a chic purse a woman would carry. See Miche Petite Skylar right with the black rope handle.

Maybe I am just harder on my purse than many, but I find the slender handle that comes with the Miche Petite Base feels a bit fragile for every day use. With the Miche Rope Handle, the Miche Petite and I are great friends for busy day trips or a night on the town.

For the Miche Classic Bag, I find the rope handles turn a strictly hand-bag into a stylish purse that fits comfortably over my shoulder. At the same time, they enhance the style of the bag. I think they are the only embellishment needed to make the oh-so-elegant Elizabeth or the flirty Cinthia look their very, very best.

(Each of these Classics shown below has the pockets added.)

On the left, Miche Classic Elizabeth is even more beautiful with her black floral detailing set off by the Miche Black Rope Handles. To the right, Miche Classic Cinthia’s silver tones are beautifully echoed by the Miche Rope Handles in Pewter. You can further play with the look and the length by creating a short chain of carabiner rings between the handles and the purse. On the right, I have used 3 1-inch carabiner rings at each end of the Black Rope Handles on Miche Classic Jasmine. To my eye, this adds a somewhat funky vibe that I feel compliments the exotic pattern of Jasmine. But I use just the Rope Handles with 1 carabiner ring for the more refined Elizabeth and Cinthia.

I think the Miche Chain Handles in black or brown add an edgier feel to any purse, and I love their look with the Miche Classic Hope Red (shown left).

Play with the different handle options to see which combination you like best. For instance, should the silver tones of Miche Demi Kinsley be matched or contrasted by the rope handle?

Pairing Miche Demi Kinsley with the Rope Handles in Pewter (right) is a very elegant combination.

Below, contrasting Miche Demi Kinsley with the Black Rope Handles is an edgier look.

I would probably add a different purse charm to Kinsley depending upon the handle I chose to accessorize the shell with. I would select Miche purse charmer Taffy in white to go with the silver handle. And probably a darker colored charm with contrasting colors when using the black.

For myself, I do not add a purse charm to a bag that is rich in detail like the four Classic shells shown above. I feel it would be gilding the lily, and the ruffles or the ornate pattern of the purse would not be enhanced by the addition of a purse charm.

When I use the Miche Rope Handles with the Demi size Miche Bag, I like to use it as a single handle to further add to the hobo style of the line of the bag. I also use two carabiner rings at each end of the rope handle to ensure the rope lies flat. I use a 1.5 inch carabiner ring attached to the purse, and a 1 inch ring to link it to the handle. I like the proportions and added detail this reduction in scale gives to the look of the bag. I do have retired Miche Demi shell Margaret available to order!
