Miche Hope – What Colors Your World?

The Miche Hope Shell program is a series of shells called Hope – designed to be uplifting and joyful, with contributions from the cancer survivors who first inspired the program, dedicated to helping to fund research for a cure. Over $2 Million raised so far!

For the month of April, the proceeds donated from Miche Hope sales of shells, charmers and key chains will be donated directly to Autism Research through Autism Speaks. The newest line of Miche Hope shells – Hope Script – are fun and fashionable and flirty, featuring a functional picture frame in the heart-shaped “o” of Hope. Clean white faux leather is both soft and smooth. Pewter grey writing is screened to make the pattern. Uplifting sentences and phrases from the wonderful cancer survivors who work with the Miche designers on the Hope shell project have been used for the script. I read “with love and a positive attitude you can conquer anything” and “can help others find hope in their person”.

Many current and retired Hope shells have been brought back for the Autism Awareness Campaign, each bringing their very different style, color and vibe to your wardrobe. The following are some of my favorite looks featuring Hope shells currently available.

Miche Classic Hope Script, with its rich raspberry accents is flirty and feminine. A terrific color accent for an all neutrals outfit for the office or dinner afterwards.

Another terrific choice to lighten up the mood, Miche Demi Hope Dove features roses and doves in tan, taupe and grey with accents of pale yellow and blue. Cheery and light-hearted.

I really love the casual flair of the Miche Hope Blue series. Giving the effect of a distressed denim purse, with all the details just right. These lend a casual chic to any outfit, perfect for jeans and a tee-shirt, but charming, I think, with a dressier ensemble as well.

Hope. Courage. Faith. Dream Laugh. Love. Live! Words of healing and inspiration as decoration and design - I love it!

Of course, having first “met” Miche as a gift myself, I think it makes a fantastic gift for anyone. But perhaps a Hope shell makes the Miche gift even more special. So very different, yet these are among my very favorites of the Hope series.

Miche Hope Black is edgy and a strong statement of courage. And so very inspiring, embellished with direct quotes from cancer survivors who have worked with the Miche design team: “I live in strength and confidence” “I found more beauty in the world and had more faith in humanity” “Healthy and intact spirit” “Happy and full of life despite the scars”.

Is it silly to think that carrying a specific purse could give me more confidence on a difficult day? I suppose so. As I have explained before – I would love to tell you that I love carrying my Hope shells as a tribute to my Mother – a cancer survivor. And it is true that I love her and honor her and admire her more than I can say. But the real reason I carry the Hope shells I love is because… I love them! They are beautiful, they fill me with confidence and joy and I think they are fabulously fashionable.

And when the two of us faced the doctor last Tuesday for a battery of tests and the verdict I was so frightened to hear – you bet I was carrying my Miche Hope bag. Guess what we learned - my Mom is still cancer free!!!

Miche and Me About Town ~ Demi Hope Blue and a Padre Game!

Miche Demi Hope (Blue) and I took in a Padre game this week – and it was fabulous!

We arrived down town well before the game began, and enjoyed strolling through the Gas Lamp District. Above, you will see a shot from a pedestrian bridge arching over the street in front of the stadium. Demi Hope (Blue) was looking her cheerful best, with a single handle of the Miche silver interchangeable handles with the black strap, to carry her hobo-style. A Kat’s Kreations purse charm completes the look.

At first, I chose the Hope Blue to join me simply because she is blue – close enough to Padre blue – and what better message than one of Hope and Joy to take to a baseball game? But as I watched the team take the field, I was struck by what a very long journey they have traveled this season of adversity.

Plagued with injuries, financial set backs and instability, a messy divorce, loss of experienced players, and a seemingly endless string of lost games, this Padres team faced virtually universal disrespect from fans and pundits alike, as well as other teams around the league. Inexperienced, out of their depth, some thought out of their league, this group of players, many of them rookies called up from the minors, came together as a real team. We saw many firsts this season. First Major League game, 1st hit, 1st strike out, 1st win.

Truly grateful to have the chance to play Major League ball, we saw players loving every moment of the game. They even seemed to enjoy their blunders, for they came up smiling – and learned the lesson. For the love of the game and the joy in the opportunity to play it, they truly melded as a team, and came roaring out of last place to begin playing the most exciting baseball in the Major Leagues. Youngsters no one had ever heard from started making the highlight reels night after night. And they began winning. And winning some more. And yes, they won the night Demi Hope and I were there, in their 2nd game of a 3 game sweep of the Saint Louis Cardinals – last year’s champions.

It was a wonderfully fun night at the ball park, and a terrific reminder as well. Love what you do, do it to the very best of your abilities, ignore the nay sayers, and be grateful for your blessings. Play the game right, and good things will happen! :)

Fall 2012 ~ Fun and Fabulous w/ Miche Bags and Accessories!

Miche knows that fashion should make you look and feel your best! Use it to emphasize your best features and express your personality. It is not a competition, nor a standard against which to measure yourself. Fashion can – and should – help you to find and express your best you!

The easiest way to make fashion work for you, rather than the other way around, is to start with pieces you like, that flatter your figure and coloring, and then play with the latest trends through fashion accessories.

Miche bags are my favorite fashion accessory (big surprise!) for many reasons. I love the way one purse can quickly and easily be changed to a completely different look and style by changing the outer “shells”. This enables me to keep my one purse organized – never at a loss for which purse has my checkbook! – but always stay stylish by complimenting or providing an accent to my outfit. And I love playing with the different looks this one fashion accessory can give me. Not just the interchangeable shells, but all of the ways to customize by using different handles, incorporating charms, etc. In this post, we are going to look at some of the many looks of the Cinderella-sized Miche bag – the Demi.

Miche Demi Joella (top) playful and on trend with a bold print and vivid red accents. We will see a lot of both this fall season. Miche Demi Myranda (above) is more quietly sophisticated, with marbled faux leather in plum tones and heavy pleating details. The same purse – totally different looks!

Miche Demi Tina (right) perfectly illustrates my point about using your accessories to keep your look fresh and current, while staying true to your own best look and style. Is there anything more timeless than jeans and a white shirt? But with red in the patterned heels, at her throat and wrist, and then a bold, beautiful red print bag, there is no doubt this is today’s woman on the go.

Stylish, now, yet classic.

Sexy and sophisticated, the glamor of black will never go out of style. But to keep it looking chic, and flattering to you, be sure it is cut well, and flatters your figure. So what’s the deal with the new Miche Interchangeable Handles? Here are the details:

The Interchangeable Handles bring the customizability of the Miche Bags to a whole new level. First, there are 3 handles sets. You can select the silver chains set, which comes with a set of 2 supple, subtly textured black strap handles and a set of 2 croc textured rich brown strap handles, and 4 silver chains. The same set is available with the antique brass chains, and the 2 brown and 2 black straps. Each of these sets are $24.95 and offer tremendous options in styling your current Miche bags, and those that are new that you will soon be purchasing.

If you are like me, and just need it all, there is a set for us, too! The Interchangeable Handles with both antique brass and silver handles also includes both the black and the brown straps. All for $39.95. The combined length of one of these chain handles is 26.5 inches, with a handle drop of 12.5 inches. The straps are .75 inch wide. These handles are truly upscale in appearance and feel.

There are also new, antique brass carabiner rings in the 1-inch and 1.5-inch sizes. A set of 4 1-inch carabiner rings, in either silver or antique brass is $5.95. For the 4 1.5-inch rings, in either color, $8.95. This is an inexpensive way to continue the antique brass hardware accents through the bag by attaching your current handles using the antique brass rings.

Now we can finally order the newest Miche line, Fearless! I have been waiting for this day like it was Christmas! Let’s get started! And you can join our online party! Be sure to order through a party link, or to “attach” your order to the party at check out.

This is such an exciting time to be in love with Miche! A total of 22 new shells are now available to order today – 18 Fearless shells – absolutely fabulous - and 4 Hope shells - one for each base bag size - beautiful!

Over the past week, I have provided detailed descriptions of each of the new shells. Please review previous posts, but I want to recap the highlights for you here. Because there is now a whole new set of options for customizing your bags with interchangeable handles in antique brass or silver, or to use the antique brass carabiners with the standard handles, I will note the color of the metal detailing for each.
