Simple Summer Chic with Miche Bags!

Get the Summer 2013 Safari Look with Miche Bags!

Miche Helps You Express to Express Your Own Style!

Miche recognizes and celebrates how much we have in common – as well as how different we are. Fashion can do the same, when you use it to express your best you, rather than chasing every new fad.

Among my family, friends, fellow Miche Representatives and favorite customers – I have a lot of contact with women who love Miche. Yet so often, we love the same concept for such very different reasons.

Look at the fashion side of Miche!

These two looks are so very different, and express completely different sides of the woman who wears them.

I love the fashion side of Miche, and the way it enables me to express myself through fashion, without the hassle of changing from purse to purse. A fellow rep and good friend insists she couldn’t care less about fashion! She uses her Miche to express her moods – and sometimes even to alter them! When she needs cheering up – sometimes the right Miche shell is the best place for her to start!

My niece is veerrrrry much her own woman – quirky and strong and independent and knowlegeable and funny and silly and incredibly bright. She is so completely, uniquely her, and she uses her choice of fashion and accessories – including hair color and her Miche bag – to make a statement about who she is.

One of my favorite customers knows exactly who she is, and how best to dress and accessorize to make the most of her coloring and her features. Her heart is as warm as a cup of rich hot chocolate and her personality is a s big as all outdoors – yes, of course I am talking about you! :) Her sense of self and style are wonderful - bubbling with confidence and joy, and the strength that comes of knowing who you are – and being glad of it. Truly a lovely woman.

My mother really couldn’t care less about what the latest style magazines say – this is “in” - that’s “out” – this never mattered to her. Like the old song says, she believes in AC-centuating the positive! and for her - the color red makes her feel wonderful. When she “sees red” she is in her happy place - and why not? To be honest, I can no longer tell if red really looks so good on her because of her coloring and features, etc, or if it looks so great on her because it makes her feel so great inside.

My sister-in-law is an amazing woman. A true power-house of talent and ability and energy and generosity. She does nothing by halves, and is fierce in her love and commitment to family and friends. I truly don’t think anything is beyond her. She just doesn’t really have a good handle yet on her own fabulousness. I’m working on her!

Do you recognize something of yourself in my descriptions of these wonderful women? I’ll bet you do – and you see similarities to women in your own life you love. We are women – and that is wonderful! We should celebrate what we have in common as well as our differences.

Take a Closer Look at Miche’s April Blues…

Miche April 2013 Cobalt Blue Shells:

This spring, Miche has the blues – and they are glorious! The shells in rich, luxurious cobalt blue, accented in brightest gold hardware. Let’s take a closer look at the designs and see how to style them.

I love these styles – the colors are simply fabulous! Available in Prima, Demi and Petite, these should be used both to complement and contrast your wardrobe. These are bold and beautiful accessories with look-at-me style.

Voluptuous folds of the rich blue faux leather are caught into gentle gathers by bright gold brads, a zipper detail down the center of each shell, and the gold Miche name plate.

The feel of the pebble texture faux leather is super soft, and the effect of the fully draped shells is one of opulence, perfectly enhanced by the bright gold hardware.

Miche Prima Niya makes a bold statement, and dresses up or down with ease. Note how well the black of the standard handles complements the over all look of this style. You do not need to match your accessories to your clothing to get a terrific look – even with a powerful color like these shells. This is a terrific spring look that would be easily accessorized with a white, tan or taupe purse. But look at the “wow” factor when you add the cobalt and gold of Miche Demi Serenity. Here, the shell is playing off several more muted shades of blue to pull the look together and make a statement.

I love this dress! So chic, so sensational! And with just the perfect shade to match my new purse! While this is a terrific look, and wonderful when you can make it happen, you should not shy away from the use of bold colors you love just because you cannot make them match. See below.

Here you see the same lovely Miche Petite Reni – and even the same jewelry used in an outfit that has no blue at all. The blue comes in solely from the purse.

So why does this work? Blue and yellow are complementary colors - or directly opposite on a color wheel. We will get into the use of the color wheel and theory in greater detail in the future. For now, the use of color wheel opposites is much like opposites attracting – it provides high contrast and generates energy. Imagine this outfit with a chic black purse instead. It is still beautiful, but the over all tone is more quiet – sophisticated and elegant rather than vibrant and expressive.

Change Your Look w/ Miche Handles at 20% Off + Free Gift!

Recently, I published a post showing how the same outfit could look so different just by changing the one accessory – your Miche shell. Today I want to show you how just changing one of your accessory’s accessories, – your bag’s handles – can really change the look and feel of the whole purse. Your guessed it! It’s Miche dress up time! :) (And don’t forget – all Miche fashion handles, straps and carabiner rings are on sale for 20% off now through March 31st while supplies last!)

Clearly, I could use photography classes, but these pix will demonstrate my point. I have taken one of my favorite shells and want you to see how changing the way you carry her and the fashion handle(s) you use can make such a difference.

Here you see one of my favorite shells. Miche Demi Joella has it all. She is playful, dramatic and take charge all at once. This is a statement making purse for certain, but one with whimsy, attitude and panache.

What is not to love? Her animal print makes her a neutral, but the vibrant red gives a rakish splash of color. In a word – she’s fabulous!

But as you can see from my photo above, the look is really changed when you convert her from being carried with two handles, to just one attached through the grommets at each end. For this rounded-bottom shaped bag, carrying her with one strap is called “hobo-style”. I like the hobo-style for my Demi, and when I use this handle style, I like to use a 1.5-inch carabiner at each end, to which I attach the 1-inch carabiner ring of the handle I am using. I like the look of the larger ring tapering to the smaller ring and then smaller to the handle itself. It also lends a bit of length that I find comfortable for carrying her over my shoulder.

Above, you see how the Miche Black Rope Fashion Handle gives a more refined look to the sassy Joella – almost a touch of elegance. Beautiful!

But with a quick flick of the carabiner rings, we get a much edgier look for Miss J by replacing the rope handle with the Silver Interchangeable Chain Handles and their black strap. Now the lines are harder, and the look is bolder. This is the fiercer look of the two. See how well one of my dearest friends rocks this look below:

These two looks above have been my preferred ways to style Joella since I first met her, until a chance remark from one of my customers got me thinking about how to make this fabulous shell look a bit more spring-like. Meet a whole new look for Miss Jo:

Getting the idea was harder than making the change! I slipped the Miche Cream Interchangeable Strap into the place of the black strap above – and look what a difference it makes! Instead of playing off the darker colors, the cream strap works beautifully to accent the creamy parts of the playful giraffe print, and presto – a perfectly chic, on-trend purse for spring 2013! This look is more light-hearted than the one with the black strap above, but every bit as fun!

So of course, I then just had to try the Cream Braided Handles. While I prefer the Cream Strap with the Silver Chains above, it is only fair to tell you that my husband prefers the look with the braided handles. He likes the feel of these handles (as if comfort ever matters in fashion!) but he also makes a good point. He thinks the texture of the braiding in the handle really plays off of the complexity in the pattern of the animal print – and I think he’s right. The rivets in the Cream Braided Handle are an antique brass, and the name plate of the shell is silver. I don’t see the rivets’ color as a problem with this combination, but wanted you to be aware of it in case it would make a difference to you.

Rock Your New Spring 2013 Looks with Miche!

With spring just around the corner – what cool looks will you be rocking this season 2013? Whatever your personal style or mood, Miche has the right bag to help you pull your look together and express your best self.

Miche Classic Hope Dove sports white canvas embellished with doves in taupe and black and grey flitting through leafy rose branches. The word Hope is inscribed subtly throughout the design. A cheery harbinger of spring. (This style shell is available in all 4 sizes)

Miche Demi Kaitlyn with cream detailing setting off the poppy red – the hottest color of spring 2013 – is a cheerful take on the dramatic. A fabulous accent and splash of color for those days you are brimming with confidence (or wish you were!) (This style shell is available in all 4 sizes)

Miche Demi Caylin is oh-so-pretty in pink! Shown here with her bright gold accents highlighted by the Gold Interchangeable Handles and the Cream Straps. Light and fun and feminine. (This style is available in Demi only – but more lovely pink is ahead in the near future! Stay tuned!!!)

Some days you just need to be bold! And others, perhaps more demure. Miche Demi Lana is the perfect fit for either mood. Rich teal green – so necessary for accents this season – is a cheery note to lend to any occasion. (This style is also available in the Classic Elaine)

Fun, flirty and feminine, the pale cream and soft pink scalloping of Miche Classic Virginia are simply lovely. Shown here with the Silver Interchangeable Handles and the Cream Strap. Perfect for the soft and frilly days, but a cute accent for jeans and a tee as well. (This exact style is only available in the Classic. But Demi Peggy and Petite Jayden feature similar scallop detailing)

Like Audrey Hepburn, I believe in pink! And like the song says, “I enjoy being a girl”. But there are many ways to indulge in this “for girls” color – just as there are many, many ways of being a girl. Remember – spice as well as sugar and everything nice! :) Miche Luxe Demi Annecy adds bling and a luxurious feel to any outfit, and completes the ensemble of contradictions above just perfectly. This style is also available in Luxe Classic Lucerne and Luxe Prima Marseille.

This spring 2013 outfit featuring the intriguing Miche Classic Chase is generating a lot of attention on Pinterest these days. Not only does she add a splash of the season’s biggest color – green – but she acts as a neutral as well. As patterns are also very big this season – she takes both trends in stride. This style is also available in Demi Kjersti. Both are currently on sale through February 28th,

The lovely shades of lemon and chocolate, coffee and cream are marbled throughout the faux lizard texture of Miche Demi Paula, accented by the collar in the soft, sunshine yellow. So pretty in person, this style is available in all 4 Miche sizes, and all are on sale through February 28th.

Miche Demi Peggy offers a completely different take on the color green. Soft and sweet and chic. I really love this look. Do not keep her just for your outfits featuring green. She is a lovely accessory for any shade of taupe, tan, caramel, black or grey. And I will have to make a post featuring just combinations of pink and green.

Speaking of sugar and spice – I like the contrasts that come together here. The ultra feminine blouse is anchored by the tomboy jeans and the biker-chic Miche Luxe Demi Aspen. Just as the floral pink is so beautifully anchored by the earthy brown shades, I like to mix some edgy elements into a soft look. Flaunt your complexity! This style is also available in the Luxe Classic Sedona and the Luxe Prima Marseille.

While I could not pull off this look, because the white is not flattering to my complexion, I love the drama of this all-white ensemble. Who cares about practicality when you look this fabulous? You cannot tell from the photo, but believe me, Miche Prima Angie in person is every bit as over-the-top gorgeous as you would need to complete this image. Equally stunning in the Demi sized Anndrea. Both are on sale now through February 28th.

Miche’s Neutral Shells Pull Your Look Together for Spring!

Get the Hottest Look of Any Season with Miche!

Miche bags can help you to get the hottest look of Spring 2013 – or even any season! And do you want to be ahead of the curve and know in advance what that look will be? Rain or shine, spring or fall – looking – and being – happy is always in style!

You can get that “Happy” look in many ways. Perhaps there is a particular dress that makes you feel pretty. Or maybe a pair of comfy jeans and a colorful sweater you love. Maybe even a favorite handbag, like the Miche Classic Hope Dove shown above.

Find what makes you smile, and feel happy and confident, and do more of that. Are there songs on the radio that give you a real pick-me up? Make a CD and play them often. Is there a favorite picture of your husband or son or dog that makes you smile? Make a copy and set it in a locket, so you can keep it close and look at it often. Do you love having fresh flowers in a vase – get some for yourself! You are a special enough occasion in your own right to enjoy beautiful blooms in your home or office.

Audrey Hepburn said “I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls“. I think this is a terrific beauty secret! Resolve today to be one of the prettiest girls! Sometimes it comes easy – every where you look, you see beauty and your heart fills with joy. Other times you might need to work at finding happiness – so do so. Happiness is a choice that you get to make each and every day.

Play with your look and have fun with fashion. If a bright and pretty color lifts your spirits – then grab a scarf, or colorful Miche shell, and infuse your day with extra energy and oomph.

Wear a flower in your hair, a scarf as your belt, and wrap a cool belt around your boot. Mix things up a bit and have fun with your look. See what works and what you enjoy.

Make fashion work for you, instead of the other way around. Play with the colors and textures you love, and use them to express the parts of you that you would like to show case – whether they are features like a beautiful smile or terrific legs, or personality traits like a quirky sense of fun or an edgy sophistication. Play up what you like about you!

What makes you happy? What will curve your lips into a smile, add a twinkle to your eye, and put a bounce in your step? Think about it. Then decide to add more of that to your life. Enjoy!
